About the U.S. Outdoor Council
The United States Outdoor Council is a non-profit organization founded by dedicated Outdoor Adventure leaders to provide voluntary minimum standards of education and training, professional ethics, and best practice standards for both individuals and professionals in the field of Outdoor Adventure pursuits. The US Outdoor Council has established a credentialing system to provide certification to both individuals and professionals that demonstrate excellence and achievement in skills development, ethical behavior, conservation, and safety.
The US Outdoor Council has developed this voluntary certification system to demonstrate professional standards to public participants, state fish and wildlife agencies, policy makers, and legislators.
The US Outdoor Council has as its purpose to promote, defend, and advocate for the preservation and conservation of wildlife, for the individuals that participate in outdoor adventure, and the professionals that facilitate outdoor adventure pursuits.
